Our team has decades of IT repair/troubleshooting, training and training development experience.
 

In 2022, we received a call from a Parkdale Nifty Fifties (PDNF), an Elder Activity Society, asking for assistance to help fix some of their broken computers and develop a website.
 

Through word of mouth, we would frequently hear about many seniors getting exploited by scams (mostly phishing) and on the worst end of the spectrum, entire life savings were taken away with no hope of recovery.
 

It is infuriating to think that half a century of hard work can be evaporated in an afternoon.
 

The director of PDNF at the time asked if we wanted to assist her members, set up some courses and teach. This is what started the “Cyber Senior” program at PDNF.
 

Research was done, a course was developed and is now one in many completed and in development. Community support and teaching were underway.
 

Over 2 years, the merits of the course were easily on display, we were approached multiple times to point out different scams that would have worked, had the students not been informed of the way to avoid them. The problem was that it was working too well, and we didn’t have the funds to grow beyond the Parkdale location. This is where ETSLSG (Elder Technical Support & Learning Services) comes in to play.
 

We want to assist and educate as many individuals we possible, we do not want to factor out people who may not be able to afford training or technical support provided to them, so, the only logical idea was to make an organization that could and would support our Elders and the non-profit institutions that assist them.
